Obituary - Blair Doucet - 2009-02-03
Blair Doucet passed away at the age of 60, on Tuesday February 3rd, 2009 after a very courageous battle against cancer.
All his life, Brother Doucet was a strong advocate for all workers. His passion and devotion manifested itself deeply while he was NBFL President from 1999-2005. He profoundly touched all of us with his principles of justice, fairness and honesty, his passion to get things done, and his unselfishness in the service of others.
We especially witnessed Blair's devotion in 2001 when he founded the NBFL youth camp. Thanks to his vision and dedication, our youth have an opportunity to learn more about labour issues. In 2008, we very proudly changed the name of our camp to The Blair Doucet Youth Summer Camp to better reflect our gratitude.
His Sisters and Brothers of the labour movement will sadly miss Blair. Our deepest sympathies go to all his family and friends.
